History

Ascalc.com was made base on personal experiences in terms of astronomical observation. There are so many factor that support the observation activity, such as computation equipment, journal, almanac, etc which are very crucial. The goal of ascalc.com is to gather all of those tools into one web service. Therefore, when astronomers -pro or amateur- is doing the observation they only need a computer/PC/laptop and a internet connection (beside telescope, of course), to do the observation; and they can also publish their paper easily.

Behind Ascalc

Thio Adinugroho - Creator & Programmer
Before developing Ascalc, Thio had worked as programmer at information technology companies. While he was working to develop Ascalc, he acquaintance with AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) and falling in love with this technology.
In his spare time, he reads a lot especially books that he likes so much. It’s not always about astronomy or IT; it could be anything, from human’s life into science. Thio holds an Honors of B.Sc. majoring in Astronomy from Bandung Institute of Technology. Now he is struggling to achieve his master degree majoring in Information Technology specialize in web technology at Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

Prayudi Utomo - Creator & Programmer
Yudi is an autodidact programmer, specializing in PHP and AJAX. He also interested in web design. CorelDraw was his tool to develop his design skill.
He likes science and philosophy so well; and feels he found both in astronomy discipline. When not developing web applications, he sinks himself into the deep of ‘Sophie’s World’, trying to get out of every Plato’s Cave he had and find the truth about everything that has happened in the universe. He is hoping to continue his study in Computer Science or Philosophy in the near future.
